About
Meet Susie Ebanks
I am a fourth-generation islander, born in West End village where I spent a dreamy childhood during a time when Roatan was still yet an “undiscovered” paradise-but for intrepid scuba divers and occasional adventurer. In the late 1980s, we moved to the USA where I completed my secondary and then university education. It being the case that; “you can take the girl off the island, but you can’t take the island out the girl,” each summer I faithfully returned to help my dad run his small family cabin retreat and enjoy my beloved mangoes.
In 2002 I moved back home to live MY island dream! The move sparked my entrepreneurial spirit and I went on to successfully create the first wedding & event planning business on Roatan , owed a funky smoothie shop in West End Village, got my feet wet in real estate , co-founded and directed Medicines for Roatan- a public health Nonprofit , created Roatan Scholarship program to help empower island girls by helping to provide scholarships , and most recently in 2020 I created the Red Hibiscus Fund to provide free feminine hygiene products to girls and women the most affected by the pandemic shutdown.
During the last 5 years I have accumulated extensive knowledge of the real estate industry on Roatan and most importantly I’ve learned that real estate is a layered industry and requires agents to play many different roles. This being the case, I have connected with an expert network of: Honduran attorneys and notaries, engineers, surveyors, and builders to ensure your Roatan realty purchase is successful.
I’ve worn many hats in my professional life, but I am the proudest of being able help others realize their dreams, be it: owning a home, vacation rental property, business, or land on Roatan, or helping an island girl or woman earn a high school and/or university degree. I am blessed and grateful!
